Abstract :

  Leili-O-Majnoon is a love and mystical couplet composed by Nezāmi of Ganjeh in 584 AH/1188AD. It is the love story of Leili Bent-ol Asad and Geis Ibn Āmer, known as Majnoon. The present article, by taking into account the commentaries on Leili-O-Majnoon, tries to re-examine them with respect to metaphors and allusions used in the book.
