Abstract :
Abstract Background and purpose: The increasing importance of public service motivation in the past three decades has led to its greater use in the field of human resource management. The purpose of this research is confirmatory factor analysis of public service motivation model in higher education sector. Research method: This research is a mixed research from the methodological point of view. The model was explained and presented using the meta-composite qualitative method. In the quantitative part, the studied population included the faculty members of Islamic Azad University, central Tehran branch, and the sample size was 200 people using Klein's formula and simple random sampling was done. By using a researcher-made questionnaire, the data was collected and the external and internal validity of the model was examined by Smart-PLS software. Findings: The findings showed that the motivation of public services in the higher education sector is a multi-dimensional structure including environmental, value and behavioral-social dimensions. In the external model, composite reliability and convergent validity were confirmed, and in the first-order factor analysis, the factor loadings of all indicators were estimated above 0.4. The findings of the second-order factor analysis in the external model showed that the coefficients of all paths were significant and the causal relationship of dimensions and components was confirmed. Conclusion: The research model in the form of a multidimensional structure provides a useful framework for understanding the nature of the motivation of public human resources services in the higher education sector for officials, managers and specialists in this field.
