Abstract :
This research was carried out with the aim of investigating the tendency towards digital banking and its effects on the efficiency of banks. At the same time, the reasons for banks' orientation towards this field and their main motivation are also very important. In the study of the literature of this research, the evolution of banking from traditional banking to digital banking was investigated, while also paying attention to the concept of liquidity, the factors affecting the supply and demand of liquidity and the relationship between digital banking services and the amount of liquidity and profitability of banks were studied. In the calculation of efficiency using the method of data envelopment analysis in two stages, first in terms of variables related to digital banking services and then in terms of these variables, efficiency was measured. Also, using the statistics and performance information of 18 Iranian stock market banks during the years 1398 to 1401 selected to conduct this research, the way banks deal with the category of digital banking as a strategic advantage or strategic necessity was studied. Examining the efficiency of banks and its changes with regard to digital banking services in a 4-year period is one of the special innovations of this research and an approach that has not been done in similar research. The results showed that banks that actively invested in digital banking services had higher efficiency and attracted more resources.
