The purpose of this study was to investigate traditional and modern cultural tendencies among students of Islamic Azad University of Fars province. Considering that these tendencies also affect the process of educational issues and the work of managers of higher education centers. For this purpose, 405 students were selected using purposive sampling and completed a researcher-made questionnaire. Data analysis using t-test and variance analysis showed that students 'use of leisure, music and body management were lower than average, but students' traditional family values and identity were above average. The mean of student traditional family tendencies was more than modern ones. The mean scores of male students in music and leisure time were higher than the female students. However, female students scored higher on modern family tendencies. Also, place of study, and ethnicity were significantly correlated with some of the students' cultural tendencies. The findings showed that modern cultural tendencies in students are not superior to traditional tendencies, but there is between gender differences in cultural tendencies. Based on the results, it was suggested that higher education administrators put the impact of students' cultural vitality and richness on their agenda more than before.
