Abstract :

This study is conducted to explore the socio-cultural interpretations which shaped women’s reproductive illness in a patriarchal society. The socio-cultural factors shaped women’s reproductive illness largely varies with family status, women’s literacy, women’s employment, husband literacy, etc. Women behave or attitude in the case of their reproductive illness is determined by the social, cultural, financial, political contexts. And these contexts, sometimes, create barriers to share women’s reproductive problems to others. Family planning is the concept that is much used in present Bangladesh. And using family planning methods is considered the most common reason for women’s reproductive illnesses. The mass media influence women in the case of using contraception which makes women reproductively ill. The mass media also help women to know abouttheir reproductive problem. This study alsoexplores how power and practice influence women’s reproductive illness.
