Abstract :
Nanoparticles bio production, considering their performance in medicine and biological science, is increasing; also, raising awareness of green chemistry and bioprocesses has encouraged the use of environmentally friendly methods for the production of non-toxic nanomaterials. Also uses of plants extracts are found to be more advantageous over chemical, physical and microbial (bacterial, fungal, algal) methods for silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesis. The objectives of this study were the production of silver nanoparticles using aqueous and hydroalcoholic extracts of Avena sativa L. and investigation of the effect of extracts on the synthesis of nanoparticles. The morphology and size of the nanoparticles were determined using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and UV-Vis spectroscopy. SEM images showed that the synthesized nanoparticles were mainly spherical and round shaped. The results indicated that synthesized nanoparticles using aqueous extract were better than the synthesized nanoparticles using hydro-alcoholic extract in shape and size. Synthesize silver nanoparticles using Avena sativa L. extract provides environmentally friendly option as compared to currently available chemical/ physical methods.
