The Journal of Industrial Engineering International (JIEI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and upholding the integrity of the academic record. JIEI thoroughly follows the principles set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to these ethical standards throughout the publishing process.
1. Authorship and Contributorship
- Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the reported study.
- All authors should take responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the work.
- One corresponding author must be designated to handle communication with the journal.
- All contributors not meeting the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.
2. Originality, Plagiarism, and Data Integrity
- Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original works.
- Submitting and publishing the same article in more than one journal (duplicate submission/publication) is strictly prohibited.
- Proper citation and acknowledgment for all referenced works must be provided.
- All data must be honestly and accurately represented. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data constitutes scientific misconduct.
3. Conflict of Interest
- All authors are required to disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be viewed as potential conflicts of interest via the [JIEI Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form] (available on the journal website).
- Editors and reviewers are also required to disclose and appropriately manage any conflicts of interest in the review process.
4. Copyright and Licensing
- Upon article acceptance, authors must complete the [IEI Declaration and Copyright Form], confirming the journal’s copyright policy or documenting any open access agreements.
- Re-use, distribution, or reproduction of published articles is subject to copyright or applicable licensing terms stated by JIEI.
- It is the author’s responsibility to obtain necessary permissions for any third-party material included in the manuscript.
5. Peer Review and Editorial Process
- JIEI operates a [double-blind peer review] process to ensure objectivity and academic rigor.
- The editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Editors and reviewers treat all manuscripts confidentially.
6. Handling of Research Misconduct
- Allegations of research misconduct—including plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate publication, and authorship disputes—will be investigated following COPE guidelines.
- If misconduct is confirmed, JIEI reserves the right to reject, retract, or correct the relevant publication and notify relevant institutions.
7. Corrections, Retractions, and Withdrawals
- JIEI publishes corrections, retractions, or withdrawal statements as needed to safeguard the integrity of the academic record, in line with COPE’s recommendations.
8. Data Sharing and Transparency
- Authors may be required to make their data available for review and sharing, upon request, to promote transparency and reproducibility.
9. Complaints and Appeals
- Authors and readers may lodge complaints or appeals regarding publication decisions or editorial conduct by contacting the editorial office. Complaints are managed confidentially and in accordance with COPE’s best practices.
10. Agreement to Ethical Policy
- By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that they have read and abide by these publication ethics policies and have filled in the required forms (Copyright and Conflict of Interest).
- Failure to comply may result in rejection or retraction of the article.
