Guide for Authors
Language: Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise and grammatically correct English so that they are intelligible to the professional reader who is not a specialist in any particular field. Manuscripts that do not conform to these requirements and the following manuscript format may be returned to the author prior to review for correction. The full form of any abbreviation or acronym should be given in the text when the term is first used.
Units: Use of SI units is mandatory. Journal style is to use the form S m-1, A m-2, W m-1 K-1, not S/m, A/m2, W/m.K.
Components of the manuscript:
- Title
- Name and Affiliation of the Authors
- Abstract, Key Words
- List of Symbols (If required)
- Text containing figures and tables
- Acknowledgments
- Endnote (If required)
- References
Title: Concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible (Times New Roman Bold 14).
Author names and affiliations: Where the family name may be ambiguous (e.g., a double name), please indicate this clearly. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name, and, if available, the e-mail address of each author (Times New Roman Bold 11)
Corresponding author: Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address.
Abstract: Each paper must be accompanied by a maximum 250 words abstract, written as a single Paragraph, having 3.5 cm left and right margins. The abstract should be a self-contained, capsule description of the paper including the motivation, problem statement, approach taken, results and conclusions. Abstract should be prepared in 9 pt Times New Roman. Place it with a distance of at least 9 - 12 cm from top of the page.
Keywords: Maximum 6 words separated by commas, Times New Roman 9 pt Bold.
Introduction: (with two 9 pt line spacing from the keywords)
Please use Times New Roman 10 pt and single line spacing for the body text. The full paper should be formatted in single column with margins as specified standard template on consecutively numbered A4 pages (2.5 cm on left and right and 3 cm on top and bottom).
Paper Length: The submitted paper, including figures and tables should not exceed 16 pages.
Introducing Variables and Symbols: You may not give a list of symbols at the beginning/end of your paper. Please introduce each variable or symbol right after its first appearance.
Equations: Equations are numbered consecutively, with equation numbers in parentheses flush right. First use the equation editor to create the equation. Be sure that the symbols in your equation are defined before the equation appears, or immediately following. Refer to “Eq. (1),” not “(1)”. If what is represented is really more than one equation, the abbreviation “Eqs.” can be used.
Tables: Each table must have a number and a caption in bold 9 pt Times New Roman. The caption should appear on top of the table. Tables may be placed at the end of the paper. All quantities in tables should be accompanied with appropriate units. Place each table with one line spacing from its preceding and following texts.
Figures and Drawings: Figures and drawings may be placed at the paper. Drawings must be clear and sharp. Letters, numbers, and legends in illustrations should be large enough and legible. Each figure must have a number and a caption. Captions should be placed below the figures and should be in bold 9 pt. Times New Roman. Make sure that all figures are referred to in the text.
- i) Photographs should be supplied as glossy prints and pasted firmly on a hard sheet. When several photographs are to make up one presentation, they should be arranged without leaving margins in between and separately identified as (a), (b), (c)... Magnification must be indicated by means of an inscribed scale.
- ii) Line drawings must be drafted with black ink on white drawing paper. High-quality glossy prints are acceptable.
iii) Axis labels should be of the form: Stress (MPa), Velocity (m s-1).
- iv) Each figure must be supplied in digital form as a separate, clearly named file. Acceptable file formats are TIFF and JPEG. Images should be saved at a resolution of at least 600 dpi at final size (dpi=dots or pixels per inch; 600 dpi=240 dots per centimeter). Do not save at the default resolution (72 dpi). Crop any unwanted white space from around the figure before sizing.
Acknowledgements: The source of financial grants and other funding must be acknowledged, including a frank declaration of the authors' industrial links and affiliations. Financial and technical assistance may be acknowledged here.
References: References should be cited as [n] in the paper where “n” is the reference number. They reference list should be written in 10 pt Times New Roman. Reference list should appear at the end of the paper and the references are to be numbered in the order they are appear in the paper. Only references, which are cited in the paper, should be included. For each reference, adequate details should be given according to the following examples. If you are indicating a document published in Persian language, please add the expression ‘(in Persian)’ at the end.
The references of article should be arranged at the Vancouver referencing style
Policies: Submission of a manuscript implies that:
1) The work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis).
2) It is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
3) Its publication has been approved by all coauthors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities at the institute where the work has been carried out.
4) Authors agree to automatic transfer of the copyright to the publisher, if and when their manuscript is accepted for publication.
5) The manuscript will not be published elsewhere.
