Solution phasepeptide synthesis (SPS) and solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) aretwo major chemical techniques for peptidesproduction. In this research, the synthesis ofdipeptde(β-alanine-L-histidine)wasexaminedby the both SPS and SPPS methods. Thesolution phase synthesizeswasdonebyN-phthalic anhydride as a protective group andthe solidphase using standardtert-Butyloxycarbonyl (BOC) and Fluorenylmethyloxycarbonylchloride(Fmoc).Inthe both methods, themicrowave was assisted in different steps. Themolecular structure of the dipeptide(β-alanine-L-histidine) wasdefined using differentspectrometrymethods such as:UV-Vis, FT-IR, 1HNMR and LC-Massanalysis. Manuscript profile

α-Fe2O3 (hematite) nanoparticles were synthesized using tragacanth gel as biotemplate andiron chloride as the iron source by the sol-gel method. This method has many advantages suchas nontoxic, economic viability, ease to scale up, less time consuming and environmentalfriendly approach for the synthesis of α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles without using any organicchemicals. Nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR)spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The powder X-raydiffraction (XRD) analysis revealed the formation of Rhombohedral phase α-Fe2O3 withaverage particle size of 21 nm. Manuscript profile

Metal-Organic Framework (MOFs) are new crystalline materials which because of having propertiessuch as high porosity, optical and electrical properties, etc., have been considered in areas such as gasstorage, catalysis, pollutants removal and so on. Therefore, in order to develop these compounds andtheir use in this study, in this work, Zn-HKUST-1 metal-organic framework was synthesized by fastand also environmentally friendly physical mixing (grinding by hand) method. To identify productsspectroscopy methods such as FT-IR and PXRD were employed. The sensing ability of this frameworkto detect explosive-like nitroaromatic analyets such as nitrobenzene, 1,3-dinitrobenzene and TNT wastested. The results showed that the sensitivity of Zn-HKUST-1 to TNT is more than two other analytesand this metal-organic framework can be effective in detecting explosives such as TNT. Alsoultrasound assisted synthesis (sonochemical) of this framework and effect of initial reagentsconcentration and power generating ultrasonic apparatus on the size and shape of the products wereinvestigated. The catalytic effect of Zirconia Sulfuric Acid (ZrSA) nanoparticle which is synthesized from thereaction of ZrO with chlorosulfonic acid has been investigated in the synthesis oftetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-ones by one-pot three-component reaction of β-naphthol,aromatic aldehydes, and dimedone. Different reaction conditions were studied in the presence ofZrSA nanoparticle as catalyst. The results showed that ZrSA exhibited high catalytic activitytowards the synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-ones, with the desired products beingformed in high yields. Furthermore, the catalyst was recyclable and could be reused at least threetimes without any discernible loss in its catalytic activity. Overall, this new catalytic method forthe synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-ones provides rapid access to the desiredcompounds under solvent-free conditions at 110 °C following a simple work‐up procedure, andavoids the use of harmful organic solvents. This method therefore represents a significantimprovement over the methods currently available for the synthesis oftetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-ones. Manuscript profile

Reaction of a nucleobase with nitrosonium ion leads to its diazotization. Due to the instability, the nucleobase-diazonium assumingly falls in dediazotization and successive ring openingreactions. The resulting intermediate of the ring opening reaction is able to covalently cross-linkthe opposite strands of DNA. To examine this assumption for cytosine, some 4-amino-5-cyanopyrimidines were synthesized via [3+3] condensation of amidines with ethoxymethylenemalonitrile and successively converted to the corresponding 4-amino-5carboxyamido derivatives. These compounds were then exposed to nitrosonium ion under different conditions. Results of this study indicate that the diazonium of a 4-aminopyrimidine prefers deamination over the dediazotization. Therefore, the dediazotization and its successive ring-opening reactions of the pyrimidine cation would happen under some exceptionalconditions which deserve to be explored in more detailed studies. In view of the cytosinechemistry and cytotoxicity of NO, the results are presented and discussed. Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of inhibition of Marrubium astranicumleaves extract on the corrosion of carbon steel in hydrochloric acid solution by using weightloss and tafel polarization methods. Inhibition was found to increase with increasingconcentration of the leaves extract. The inhibition efficiency of this extract at an optimumconcentration of 100 mg L-1 was 99.9 %. The effect of inhibitor concentration, immersiontime and temperature on the corrosion behavior of carbon steel in 1 M HCl was also studied. The inhibition was assumed to occur via adsorption of the inhibitor molecules on the metalsurface. The adsorption of the extract on the carbon steel surface obeys the Langmuiradsorption isotherm. The results obtained show that the leave extract of plant could serve asan effective green inhibitor of the corrosion of carbon steel in hydrochloric acid. Manuscript profile
