This fact that marketing can encourage farmers to produce and their products better introduce to compete in the sell market and with market-friendly products to know better is important. The farmer who is not familiar with the importance of marketing and its technology will not be able to succeed in selling their product and may sell your product at a cheaper price and will be deprived of interest that he could be achieved in this field. The purpose of this study was to examine and effective strategies in the marketing development of agricultural products in Orumiyeh township, Iran. This research was conducted with a descriptive - survey method and data required were collected through questionnaires and were analyzed through regression statistics in SPSS software. The results of the research showed that there was a significant and positive correlation found between the independent variables strategies of packaging, training, government support and manufacturing with the dependent variable the marketing development of agricultural products. Also these variables explained 73 percent of variance in the dependent variable. Manuscript profile

This study assessed the input and output relationship in cassava production in Kogi State, Nigeria. A multistage random sampling technique was used to select 120 cassava farmers for the study. The survey instrument was a structured questionnaire. Data were collected on farmers’ socioeconomic characteristics, inputs used in cassava production, and other relevant data. The data were analyzed with the use of descriptive statistics and Cobb- Douglas stochastic frontier production function. The result of the socioeconomic characteristics of the respondents showed that most of the farmers were female (64.2%). This study found an average age of 39.8 years among cassava farmers with a mean family size of 8 members and an average farm size of 3.7ha. Inputs identified in cassava production are; herbicide (65%), hired labour (50.8%), pesticide (21.7%), organic manure (38.3%), fertilizer (29.2%) and improved cassava cuttings (22.5%). The parameters of the production function were estimated by the maximum likelihood method using the computer program frontier. Results indicated that farm size (β = 75862.79), cassava cuttings (β = 63.4853), and labour (β = 409.4048) significantly influenced the output of cassava farmers at 5% level of significance. Furthermore, age (β = -.9921587), household size (β = -10.52704) and farming experience (β = 1.634783) significantly influenced inefficiency among cassava farmers in the area. Recommendations made to enhance the input-output relationship in cassava production include; provision of improved cassava cuttings to boost cassava production and there should be adequate farmland for cassava framers. Climate change is one of the most serious challenges confronting agriculture, particularly, in rural Nigeria. This study examined the perception, adaptation strategies and challenges of climate change among rural households in Kogi State, Nigeria. A two stage sampling techniques was used in the study. The first stage involves the purposive selection of six (6) rural farming communities, followed by a random selection of twenty (20) farmers each from the communities making a total of 120 respondents, the data were elicited with the aid of a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, percentages, mean distribution and ranking. Most farmers observed change in climate, on their perception of climate change, the result showed that majority (44.9%) perceived climate change not to be severe, 41.5% perceived climate change to be very severe while 13.6% were undecided. On the perceived effects, most (87.5%) agreed to prevalence of pest and diseases, followed by high temperature (85.5%) as the major consequence of climate change in the area. Pesticide application (81.7%) was the major adaptive strategy used in the study area. Mulching (66.7%) is also very common in the area. Lack of government support (88.3%), inadequate extension services (86.7%), lack of finance (83.3%) among others were the main constraints to adaptation adoption in the study area. The study concluded that the respondents were aware and knowledgeable on the issues of climate change. There is need for government to make concrete efforts to enact appropriate policies on climate change adaptation. Manuscript profile

Comparative study on the impact of Rural Finance Institution Building Programme (RUFIN) on the food security status of the beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries was conducted in Anambra State, Nigeria. The study employed multistage, purposive and snowball sampling techniques to select 120 households (60 beneficiaries and 60 non-beneficiaries). Data were collected using structured interview schedule. To determine the food security status of the RUFIN beneficiaries (RB) and non-beneficiaries (NRB), food security survey module was adopted. Descriptive statistics, t-test and factor analysis were used for data analysis. About 43% of RB and 22% of NRB were food secured. No significant (p>0.05) difference was seen between the two groups in the number of times households feed in a day (t = 0.00) with food insecurity score of t = -1.53. Conclusively, beneficiaries were more food secured than the non-beneficiaries but the marginal difference is not so substantial when viewed in the lens of the programme intention. Therefore, the volume of loanable amount and payback period should be increased by RUFIN to allow for meaningful agricultural investment which will in a long run, positively affect the food security status of the beneficiaries Manuscript profile

The sugarcane industry is a pivotal force in the agricultural perspective. It is essential to promote process innovations in sugarcane planting for sustainable growth and competition. This study was conducted to analyze the effective key factors of process innovations in the sugarcane industry. It is applicable from an objective aspect and the required data was collected through qualitative methods and meta-synthesis. This method systematically studied thirty-three articles related to the research objective among 405 primary articles. Final articles were selected based on inclusion criteria. The validity of the research was confirmed based on the inclusion criteria, holding sessions with members of the research team, the use of an expert, and examination of the whole process for theoretical consensus. Reliability was also determined via the Critical Appraisal Skills Program. The effective dimensions and components of process innovation in the sugarcane industry include four dimensions, namely steps of innovation in the sugarcane production cycle that have been identified in the form of 45 components. The four stages of this cycle are "innovation in the process of planting", "innovation in the process of growing", "innovation in the process of harvesting" and "innovation in the process of processing". As the sugarcane industry follows innovation complexities, this research presents a map to understand the multi-faceted perspective of the process innovation. Through the classification of the components in vital stages, stakeholders achieve insight into transformational strategies and reinforce sustainable methods that are technologically advanced in sugarcane planting. Intergenerational succession aims at the renewal of family farm and addresses the problem of increasing aged population of principal farm owners. This study assessed poultry farm characteristics and poultry farmers’ perception of farm succession planning in southwest Nigeria. A multistage sampling procedure was used in selecting poultry farmers in Oyo and Osun states. Data were analyzed using descriptive and differential statistics. Results revealed that the poultry farmers are predominantly small and medium scale farmers. They were mostly sole proprietors (72.5%), and family farm owners (11.9%). Most (73.4%) farmers operated on full time basis, while others were either part–time or occasional farmers. Majority (95.9%) of the farmers had favourable perception towards farm succession planning, 30.3% had complete succession plan and 22.9% had commenced successor participation. There were no significant associations between farm ownership structure, but significant associations existed with farming status, total farm debt, and succession planning among the poultry farmers (p< 0.05). The study concluded that succession planning is new in the study area and must be further investigated in order to provide a data base for policy decision with regards to livestock (especially poultry) farming, aging proprietorship and encourage its practice.
