The transition of ethical values in teenagers and youths is greater than in any other period. The rapid cognitive growth in teenagers and youths causes such persons to judge moral and value issues better and encounter these issues with more complicated and finer reactions. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between moral development, SMS addiction and dropout rates in second high school students in Behshahr city. Hence, a total of 357 students amongst all the students in first, second and third base in the second high school of Behshahr (2015-16) was selected with a cluster sampling method. In order to collect the data, the Lotfabadi moral development test, SMS addiction test and dropout questionnaire were used. The results of the analysis of the data, using analysis of variance, correlation coefficient, t independent and regression in P<0.05 level, showed that there are reverse and negative correlations between moral development, SMS addiction and dropout rates, but there is a direct and positive correlation between SMS addiction and dropout rates. It also showed that the moral development variable can be predicted by SMS addiction and dropout variables.
