Introduction: Many researchers are now looking to find new solutions for the treatment of drug-resistantbacteria and are also an alternative to antibiotics for prevention. This study investigated the antibacterial activityof green synthesized silver nanoparticles.Materials and methods: The antibacterial effect was primarily used by minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) using broth Macro dilution method. Studied bacteriawere pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC27853, bacillus Subtilis ATCC6633, Streptococcus pyogenes ATCC8668and Escherichia coli ATCC25922.Findings: The color change of mixture and techniques such as ultraviolet (UV-Vis), Scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) confirmed the synthesis of fabricated silvernanoparticles. Bacillus Subtilis and Streptococcus pyogenes were inhibited at the concentration of 3.12 and 1.56μg/ml respectively. The minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of 64 and 3.12 μg/ml were observed forthese bacteria. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of silver nanoparticles for Escherichia coli andpseudomonas aeruginosa was 12.5 μg/ml and MBC nanoparticles for these bacteria were 50 and 25 μg/mlrespectively.Conclusion: Based on the result of this study, the green synthesized silver nanoparticles have showedantimicrobial activity. It can also be studied further to use in treatment of infections which caused by thesemicroorganisms.
