Manufacturing processes can produce imperfect items, and inventory disruptions may occur in the process, causing shortages. We propose a model to explore these real-life scenarios. This paper offers a production inventory model considering the concept of inspection of the produced batches and disposal of defective items in an Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) model with partial backorders and discount on batches that are imperfect but not defective. Furthermore, the proposed model considers the holding cost of these imperfect items while they are not sold. An algorithm for finding the optimal solution is presented, and a numerical example is provided to perform a sensitivity analysis. We conclude that the setup cost followed by the holding cost are the costs that have the most significant impact on the total cost. Although the inspection cost has been added to the model, this cost has little effect on the total cost and does not increase it significantly. Manuscript profile

In real quality control applications, the performance of a process or the quality of a product is described by the relationship between a non-metric response variable and one or more control variables. Furthermore, the quality characteristic of a product or process is vague, unreliable, and linguistic and cannot be accurately expressed in most practical applications. This study was carried out aimed to provide a method for monitoring the fuzzy logistic regression profile in Phase II. In these circumstances, there is a need for special diagrams to monitor the performance of this fuzzy data. To this aim, some powerful control charts including Fuzzy exponentially weighted moving average (FEWMA), fuzzy T2 (FT2) control chart have been developed. In addition, to show the performance of the proposed control charts, the fuzzy hypothesis test along with average Run Length (ARL) criterion is used in Phase II. In addition, to show the efficiency of the proposed control chart in real applications, a real case study in health-care has been applied. Manuscript profile

A high degree of uncertainty is incurred during the early product design and process planning stages of a bicycle. Consequently, this research presents an optimization procedure for the design of critical components of a bicycle frame and planning of their corresponding processes using simulation and fuzzy goal programming (FGP). For this frame, the reliability, dependability, mass, and fatigue factor were the main quality responses. Initially, the critical bicycle’s frame components with their corresponding design parameters and tolerances were identified via technical knowledge. Designed experimentation based on the Taguchi’s array was conducted by simulation with twenty replicates for various combinations of design parameters and tolerances of the key frame components. Then, satisfactory regression models were formulated to relate each quality response with design parameters and tolerances and then inserted in the optimization model. The design parameters and tolerances and processes' means and tolerances were expressed in terms of fuzzy membership functions and their relevant goals and constraints were included in the optimization model. Finally, the objective functions were minimizing the negative and positive deviation from desired goals and maximizing process capability indices. Results showed that the FGP optimization procedure effectively achieved the desired targets of the bicycle’s quality responses and process capability indices. In conclusion, the proposed procedure can be used for optimal concurrent product and process design in a wide range of industrial applications. Manuscript profile

A new mixed-integer multi-objective mathematical model is developed to optimize sustainable inventory-routing decisions in products agri-chain. The first aim is to optimize the network total revenue besides noticing logistics decisions related to the distribution and collection of perishable products. Also, the economical, social and environmental factors have been integrated in the proposed model. The first objective function considers some traditional terms and novel issues (e.g., postharvest biological behavior of agricultural products), which is related to deviation from ideal quality (customer's dissatisfaction) and the costs of expired products. Because old products have significant environmental impacts and require recycling, the reverse logistics framework is used to collect and bring products back to recycling. A function is applied to compute the level of deviation from suitable maturity and customer's dissatisfaction costs. A numerical example is analyzed to indicate the model's applicability by applying the ε-constraint methodology to show the opposite pattern between the two objectives. Results show that a lower level of accidents leads to lower revenue or higher costs of the supply chain. Remarking the NP-hardness of the presented model, two multi-objective meta-heuristic algorithms, namely the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) and Multi-Objective Dragonfly Algorithm (MODA) are used to explore near-optimal solutions for medium and large-sized problems. Results show a better performance of the NSGA-II. Furthermore, the sensitivity analysis is presented and explained in four parts to show the trend of the proposed model by fluctuations on important parameters. Manuscript profile

Supply chain management (SCM) is the active management of supply chain activities to maximize customer value and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. Capital goods have a special role in increasing the quality of products and their connection with the issue of resistance economy in trade. However, in recent years, Iran's share of the global textile trade has been only 1%, and not only has no activity been done to strengthen the textile industry in Iran, but other industries are not experiencing a better situation. While various countries such as Japan and Korea have long been resilient in their industries and have made significant progress. In the present study, 16 practical questions in 3 levels of capital goods, quality of Iranian goods and resistance economy from 109 manufacturers, importers and distributors of textile market were evaluated and its reliability was measured by Cronbach's α method. Its validity was determined through a survey of experts and critics of the textile industry. The results of data analysis showed that the import of capital goods has a positive and significant effect on the quality of Iranian goods with the role of resistance economy. Therefore, this study indicates that more attention should be paid to the social welfare of employees as the driving force of the textile industry. Furthermore, the government, as the custodian of imports and exports, should consider facilities for the import of capital goods into the country. Manuscript profile

In recent years, offering warranty services has become a regular practice in the selling process. Manufacturers try to offer suitable warranty services on their products as an efficient tool to attract new customers and satisfy their current customers. The failure rate curve of many systems shows a bathtub shape with three distinguishable phases. In the first phase, it shows a decreasing rate. During this phase, manufacturers use burn-in methods to eliminate products with early failures. In the second phase, where the curve shows approximately a flat rate, manufacturers offer warranty services. These services assure consumers about the manufacturer's support for the purchased products in case they face failure during the warranty period. In this study, a non-repairable component with a bathtub-shaped failure rate function is considered. In the first phase, if a component fails during the burn-in period, the manufacturer replaces it with a new component. In the second phase, the manufacturer offers a new pro-rata warranty service if a component fails. Considering these assumptions, a cost model is constructed and optimal burn-in time and warranty period are obtained. A numerical illustration is presented to evaluate the impact of the proposed model by calculating the optimum values of burn-in and warranty periods. Manuscript profile

This research aims to enhance intelligence integration in small-medium enterprises. The approach is included an integrated structural model and an optimal human resource allocation (HRA) using a novel intelligence method. To optimize the current organizational structure used enterprise engineering (EE) in IT and Business parts (Using ITIL and COBIT standards, BSC and KAP model, respectively), and statistics method like as regression test is used. Also, continuous HRA is simulated using HRA mathematical program, Gray Wolf Optimization Algorithm (GWO), and Sugeno Fuzzy Inference (SFI) model to add a self-regulating attribute to the GWO algorithm. Results showed that the EE was issued a new optimal and integrated structure in IT and business parts and the examination of the PMBOK approved it, too. Also, results of the novel self-regulating algorithm using data from previous researches and by the top five proposed methods in the researches (Includes: SGA, PRS, SRS, MIP, HM) based on three methods of evaluating the quality of solutions (GA-FSGS, MP-FSGS, GA-SGS) showed that increase of Ω from 15,000 to 25,000. Also, it showed that HM and SGA performed better than other previous cases even in the larger B100 and B200 datasets. Manuscript profile

Despite advances in information technology, many banks continue to carry out their business processes in a traditional, paper-based manner, using Internet-based tools can be a reliable and fast way to improve performance. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of Internet-based systems on the work process using business process simulation. A case study is carried out on the Credit Card process in an Iranian bank. All the components of this process are modeled using the principles of business process simulation, and then it shows how different scenarios can be evaluated. The research reveals that using web-based systems in the process can improve the bank's performance. The results reveal that indicators such as cycle time, waiting time in the operator's queue, and operators’ desirability can all be improved. The data generated in the simulation process can be used in feasibility studies and the eligibility of the TO-BE situation. Also, the structure and approach of the presented method can be adopted in financial services and aid the decision-making process. Although several types of research on business processes and simulation have been presented, they rarely work on real examples with the application of web-based services. Manuscript profile
