Implication of Ludwig Wittgenstein’s philosophy on the study of contemporary and historical architecture (case study: Semnan city)

Abstract :
To understand the complexities of a modern city and contrast different aspects of modernity and history, the Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein opinions can be useful. In his text, 20th century modernism with an approach that focuses on logic, modernity, technology, and spiritual matters is intelligible. This study recounts and analyzes Wittgenstein's opinions and uses them to define a conceptual model.
this model is examined by four main components and 10 subcomponents in a case study, which is Semnan city Focusing on 6 cases, three historical buildings and three contemporary ones. These components were used as variables in the field study questionnaires. Two questionnaires, one for citizens and one for experts, have been prepared and after validity assessment, field study has implemented. Then, the results of the questionnaires were entered into the data bank in IBM SPSS and were analyzed and compared.
The obtained results are summarized in the tables and graphs as follows: Out of the ten variables of the model, three variables of attention to excellence, creating a positive feeling, and a positive approach to technology are ranked higher than the other variables with an importance of nearly 80%. The acceptability of all three historical buildings is higher than the three contemporary buildings in both groups of citizens and experts, but the difference is much greater among experts.
