The objective of the present study was to trace the influence of environmental temperature on growth and feed consumption in early-weaned lambs from dairy sheep breeds. The experiment was conducted in 2015 at the experimental farm of the Institute of Forage Crops, Pleven, Bulgaria using 36 lambs of the Blackhead Pleven sheep breed. The animals were divided into three groups (12 animals per group). Each group was divided into 6 sub groups (2 lambs per pen and divided into three experimental premises, each with a different environmental temperature. The lambs reared at an average temperature of 12.6 ˚C grew significantly faster (P<0.01), than the lambs reared at 5.1 ˚C and -3.0 ˚C. The animals grown at an average temperature of -3.0 ˚C, consumed a larger quantity of maize (P<0.01) and a lower amount of pelleted protein concentrate (PPC, P<0.01). In the animals grown at an average temperature of 12.6 ˚C, the tendency for consumption is reversed (higher PPC consumption and less maize). In this case, when the lambs were grown at a temperature of 12.6 ˚C the percentage of crude protein in the dry matter chosen is the highest at 22.0%. پرونده مقاله

The aim of this study was monitor the effect of inducement baits and to test four nutrition systems after early weaning lambs of Blackhead Pleven sheep breed. The experiment was conducted with 80 early weaned lambs. The study shown that during partial deprivation of milk (from 14 days of age), lambs intake more feed when an inducement is placed baits. In both groups, on the last day before weaning, the lambs intake over 100 g of concentrated feed, which proved sufficient and allowed the animals to be weaned at 19 days of age. Growth of animals after weaning is higher at fed on pelleted protein concentrate and barley grain (p <0.01). This is indicative of the fact that age and body weight do not influence the growth of early weaned lambs, but the kind of forages used. Studies shown that the early weaning of lambs at an average body weight of 8.80 and an age of 19.4 days kg allowed an additional 41.8 kg of milk per sheep to reach 15 -16 kg body weight of lambs. پرونده مقاله

The aim of the present study was to analyze the live weight, body length, and chest perimeter in Blackhead Pleven lambs at an early age with a view to their future use as prognostic indicators of growth performance. The study was conducted with 46 lambs. It found out that at birth and weaning the singletons had higher live weight and higher average daily weight gain in comparison with the twins (P<0.01). Body length and chest perimeter at birth were higher in the singletons lambs (P<0.01). The type of birth influenced significantly (P<0.01) on the live weight (η2=26.85%), live weight (η2=21.39%) and the chest perimeter (η2=27.08%) of the lambs at birth. At 26 days of age i.e. at weaning, only the live weight was influenced by the birth type (η2=27.53%, P<0.01). The chest perimeter of lambs at weaning was not influenced by the body length at birth and at weaning. There was a moderate to strong phenotypic correlation among the other studied parameters. پرونده مقاله

4 - Influence of Body Condition on Milk Production and Metabolic Profile in Assaf Sheep
Iranian Journal of Applied Animal Science , شماره 4 , سال 13 , تابستان 2023

The aim of the study was to monitor the relationship between body condition score (BCS) and body weight (BW) on milk productivity and metabolic profile in sheep of the Assaf breed during the first months of lactation. The experiment was conducted from January 2020 to April 2020 with 378 ewes aged 3 and 4 years (second and third lactation). The influence of BCS and BW on milk yield and dry matter (DM) and metabolizable energy (ME) intake was established. Animals with BCS < 3 had significantly higher average daily millk (ADM) consumed more DM and ME (P<0.01) and had a higher negative energy efficiensy (-17.53%), compared to animals with BCS above 4.1. The sheep weighing 71 to 75 kg have a higher ADM, compared to animals weighing less than 71 kg and more than 76 kg, but also had a higher negative energy efficiency (-20.35%), despite the fact that they consumed significantly more DM and ME (P<0.01). It was found that the expenditure of ME for lactation was higher, the higher the milk yield of the animals (R2=0.9734). When combining the ME requirement for maintenance (MEm), Mcal and the ME requirement for gain (MEg), when ADG was positive the total MEred, Mcal, was highly related with the milk yield of the animals (R2=0.6519). The direct effect of milk yield on average daily gain shows a high correlation between the milk yield and average daily gain (R2=0.8747), which had an impact on body energy loss/gain, with the correlation between mean daily milk yield and body energy los/gain (BEL/g) being significant (R2=0.6309). پرونده مقاله

5 - Influence of Protein Source on the Growth of Lambs

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the influence of roasted soybean and sunflower meal on the consumption and growth performance of lambs from the Blackhead Pleven Breed. The results indicated that the addition of roasted soybean caused the lambs to grow significantly faster than those fed sunflower meal (P<0.01). Adding roasted soybean to the feed caused lambs to intake significantly less maize and roughage, while intake more protein feed at the same time. Combined with the significantly higher growth rate (P<0.01), lambs receiving roasted soybean exhibited lower expenditure of dry matter, concentrated feed and raw protein for 1 kg of growth, compared to lambs who were fed with sunflower meal (P<0.01). The intake amount of dry matter had a significant effect on the average daily gain in lambs consuming roasted soybean, with a high correlation coefficient (r=0.645). In both groups of lambs, raw protein and FUG feed units for growth intakes significantly affected the animals’ growth performance. پرونده مقاله
