This study aimed to explore the effects between attachment styles and marital satisfaction through the mediation of relationship attribution among married students at Ahvaz city universities. The statistical population of the study included all students of Ahvaz universities who were studying in these universities in the academic year of 2019-2020. With use of multi-stage random sampling, 230 subjects were selected as study sample. Data were collected through Index of Marital Satisfaction (Hudson's, 1992), Revised Adult Attachment Scale (Collins & Read’s, 1990), and Relationship Attribution Measure (Fincham & Bradbury’s, 1992). Finally data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SPSS-26 and AMOS-24. Results indicated that the proposed model fitted the data relatively proper. The research findings indicated that there was a significant positive impact of secure attachment style on marital satisfaction and significant negative anxiety insecure attachment style and avoidance insecure attachment style. In addition, causal attribution and responsibility directly affect the variable of marital satisfaction (P =0.0001). Also, the results of indirect path analysis showed that secure attachment styles, anxiety and avoidance through causal attribution and responsibility have been effective on marital satisfaction (p = 0.001). One of the effective factors in the success of marriage is the attachment styles of individuals, so it is recommended for premarital couples to review the attachment status, documents and communication skills and give premarital education.
