In an era of increasing uncertainty and global competition, the reliability of supply chains in strategic industries such as oil and petrochemicals has become a critical concern. This study investigates the key factors influencing supply chain reliability in Iran’s oil and petrochemical sector, which is vital for national economic growth and global positioning. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, the research first applies grounded theory through interviews with ten industry experts to identify core factors impacting reliability. Subsequently, Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) and MICMAC analysis are used to evaluate interdependencies among these factors. The results highlight that structural and managerial dimensions are strong drivers of supply chain performance, while components such as entrepreneurship, competitive advantage, and value creation are highly dependent outcomes. A final quantitative analysis using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) confirms the validity and reliability of the proposed model. The findings offer a strategic framework for enhancing the reliability of supply chains through informed managerial and policy decisions, ultimately contributing to increased resilience and competitiveness in turbulent environments.
