چکیده مقاله :
شهرها در کشورهای درحال توسعه، با مشکلات قابل توجهی از جمله مشارکت اجنماعی پایین ، رشد بدون توسعه ، کنترل نرخ رشد بی رویه مهاجرت ، افزایش شمار فقرا ، نابرابری در فرصت ها و درآمدها مواجه هستند . هدف این بررسی تعیین رابطه برخی عوامل اجتماعی و فرهنگی با مشارکت شهروندان شهر تبریز به منظور کمک به توسعه پایدار شهری بود . روش تحقیق پیمایش و ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها پرسشنامه بود . جامعه آماری ، کلیه شهروندان در سنین 45-15 ساکن در نقاط شهری تبریز اعم از زن و مرد به تعداد 820000 نفر و حجم نمونه 680 نفر بود که در سه گروه سنی انتخاب شدند. در این پژوهش، متغیرهای انسجام اجتماعی، اعتماد اجتماعی، رضایت از دولت، نوگرایی، جنس و پایگاه اقتصادی‌ـ اجتماعی شهروندان با متغیر مشارکت رابطه معنی‌داری داشتند . البته متغیر نوگرایی رابطه معنی‌دار معکوسی با مشارکت داشت. با توجه به پایین بودن میزان مشارکت شهروندان می‌توان گفت این وضعیت ناشی از موانع ساختاری در نظام سیاسی و فرهنگی ایران است. پیوند افراد با جامعه و برقراری رابطه با آن و گسستگی آنها از جامعه، همه به محیط اجتماعی و فرهنگی که در آن قرار گرفته اند، برمی‌گردد. این وضعیت ، در کم و کیف توسعه پایدارشهری نقش دارد . مشارکت به عنوان مهمترین عامل در توسعه شهری به شمار می رود ، بطوری که بدون مشارکت مردم ، برنامه ریزی و توسعه پایدار شهری امکان پذیر نیست.
