The purpose of the present research is to study the status of audio-visual courses in library and information studies major (LIS) at undergraduate level. The research method is a descriptive survey one. The statistical population (155 people) included all LIS undergraduate students in Kharazmi University in 2010-11 who passed this course. Based on Morgan table, 110 students were selected as the sample through random sampling method. The instrument was researcher made questionnaire including a set of 26 items. Its validity was confirmed by the experts and its reliability estimated 0/84 through Chronbach Alpha coefficient. The data were analyzed using descriptive (frequency and percentage) and inferential (one sample t test) statistics through SPSS software version 15. The findings showed that the amount of student's familiarity and knowledge toward different audio-visual materials was different so that some students did not know such materials. To them, if such courses are presented or taught practically would be more beneficial than theoretically. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this paper is assessment of smart middle schools establishment in Semnan province from the administrators and teachers view. This study was based upon descriptive-measuring model and due to its objective is categorized in functional research group. The statistical population consisted of 215 teachers and administrators of smart schools in Semnan province during 2010-11 academic year that finally 132 person were chosen randomly by using Krejcie and Morgan table, due to limitation in the above statistical population. Data collection was conducted by questionnaire method consisting 29 questions and the obtained reliability coefficient was 0.84. Available data collected from questionnaire were analyzed by using descriptive (redundancy, percentage, average and tables) and deductive (x2) statistical methods. Results showed that in all province’ schools, some factors such as computer integrated system, learning and teaching backgrounds, it (information technology) infrastructure and also computer integrated communication with smart schools, require more preparation and developing for establishing and coming into reality for such smart schools, although they said province is enjoyed other possibilities such as trained and well educated teachers in the fields of it and computer integrated management for establishment of such schools. This research aimed at examining the relationship among socio-economic status, having personal computer, access to internet, previous participation in computer courses and attitudes towards computer in the students of Ferdowsi university of Mashhad. This research is a descriptive one and of a correlation type. The statistical population includes all the students of Ferdowsi university of Mashhad. The sample consists of 180 (116 girls and 65 boys) which were selected though cluster random sampling method. The instrument used was computer attitude scale (CAS). The reliability of the total scale was calculated 0/92 through Alpha Chronbach. To analyze the results, we used pearson’s correlation coefficient, t test for independent groups, and regression at the same time. The results showed a positive correlation between socio-economic status and stress toward computer at the level of (PPP<%5) respectively. The results also showed that there was no significant correlation between male and female student's attitudes toward computer. Finally, the results showed that, two factors, that is, having personal computer and previous participation in computer courses have noticeable influence in student's attitudes towards computer. This study was done to evaluate education system of teacher training in the age of information and communication technology (ICT) based on the analysis of its philosophical and social bases from the teachers and students perspectives in academic year of 2010-11. The present study is descriptive one and of a survey type. Its statistical population includes all teachers in the educational system and student- teachers studying in Islamic Azad University and other training centers of educational system. Based on Morgan table, 349 people were selected as the statistical sample through random stratified sampling method. A researcher made questionnaire which included items based on philosophical and social concepts in educational system of teacher training was used as instrument for data collection. The collected data were analyzed using U Mann Whitney and two independent group t test. Results showed that there is a significant difference regarding the philosophical bases of educational system teacher training between student teachers and teachers. Also there is a meaningful difference between teachers and students views toward social bases of educational system and teacher training curriculum in the information and communication technology age. The main purpose of the present study was to design an effectiveness assessment model for distance education at higher education section in Payame Noor Universities in Iran. This is a descriptive and survey-based study. The sample population of this study consisted of 45 university instructors and 1129 PhD students; 115 of them were selected through stratified sampling method. They answered the researcher-made questionnaire. Three experts determined the validity of the questionnaire and its reliability was determined by using Cronbach α. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics by performing SPSS & LISREL. The findings showed that the effectiveness of the services provided at the post graduate section of Payame Noor University for the student support index was average and about 12, but for the curriculum development index 11.32, for the faculty support index 7.58 which was weak (lower than expected). The results also displayed that the quality indexes were appropriate. In other words, this model can be used for assessing the effectiveness of services offered in the universities and centers of higher education based on ICT. Manuscript profile

The present research was aimed at studying factors influencing the use of information and communication technology from perspective of graduate students studying in Teacher Training University of Shahid Rajaee. In this descriptive- survey research, a sample of 235 were randomly selected among 750 populations for collecting data. Research data collected by using self- developed questionnaire. Its validity was confirmed by experts and the Reliability was 88% by using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. One sample t test, independent t test and one way ANOVA were used for analyzing data. The aim of this paper was to examine the relationship between environmental education and e-readiness of owners and managers of agricultural enterprises in Kermanshah and Ilam provinces. This paper was an applied one in terms of its goal, and a descriptive-correlative in terms of its method. Participants of this study were 202 owners and managers of agricultural SMEs of Kermanshah and Ilam provinces who have been selected based on stratified sampling method. For gathering data, the researcher-made questionnaire and a modified version of digital Literacy of Washington University was used. The validity was obtained by the ideas of professors of extension and rural development of Razi University. Reliability was assessed by calculating the cronbach alpha. It can also be observed that acceptable values were obtained in all cases. In order to analyze the data, one sample t test, Pearson correlation and multiple regressions was used. Results indicated that digital knowledge and skill and cost-effective of ICT application explained around 22% of the variance of ICT application in environmental education. Manuscript profile

One of the most important tools in the modern world is internet. But if we don’t use it rightly, it may result in internet addiction. The purpose of this study was to compare the rate of addiction among students and its effect on their mental health. The method of the research was descriptive and causal-comparative (expost facto). In this study, 100 students were selection among all the students studying at Mazandaran University through random sampling method in 2010-11 academic year. Based on the internet addiction test, the students were divided into three groups (mild, moderate, and severe). In order to compare these three groups from a health point of view, GHQ-28 was used. To analyze the research data MANOVA, ANOVA, and Shefe method were used. The results showed that there was a distinction between the mental health and its effects (somatic, anxiety, social, depression syndrome) among students and the rate of internet addiction.
