        Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to identify of the function of Semnan universities libraries based on ISO 11620. Methodology: Survey was used as a research method and population of research was librarians of Semnan University includes 29 people. Research made questionnaire (based on the ISO 11620) was used for gathering data. And to test the hypotheses was used Student's t-tests a sample, one-way analysis of variance and Duncan. Findings: Finding showed the performance of Semnan university libraries in terms of resources and infrastructure, with an average of 89/1, is below the average level. The performance in terms of application with an average of 67/2 is lower than the average level. Also in terms of the effectiveness of academic libraries field lower than the average level is 18/2. Semnan university libraries only in terms of potential and development are have been higher than average level (with average of 27.3). Conclusion: The results showed that the performance of academic libraries in the city of Semnan based on ISO 11620 is lower than the average level. The standard hypothesis tests to compare the performance of different aspects revealed that in term of performance index access resources and infrastructure, application or use, and potential and development libraries investigated were no significant differences between the performances. And the library functions in the field of access resources and infrastructure, applications and potential development between the three universities is the same and weak. Manuscript profile
