Poems in Indian style are worthy of note due to their rich images, as in terms of word concept they are similar to the English metaphysical poems of the 17th century. Such poems have brevity, delicacy, and are predictable by complex concepts. Hence, having a powerful structure and a recurrent philosophy, they are considered to possess complex stylistic features matched with the mystic secrets of life. This style is the product of the thoughts and feelings of poets with profound scientific and philosophical knowledge; therefore it requires a distinctive audience. The main features of this style are profound philosophical contemplations, vernacularism, an addressing tone through such devices as simile, metaphor, personification, antithesis, and pun, whose manifestations are noticeable in the literary vocations of John Donne and Saeb Tabrizi, that is to say, these two poets hunt the reader’s mind. This article comparatively studies the selected works of John Donne and Saeb Tabrizi for some of the eminent instances of the above stylistic features. Manuscript profile

Undoubtedly, one of the glorious manifestations of Persian literature is Maulana Jalaluddin Balkhi (604-672AH). Although, as he deems himself a follower of Sanai and Attar Neyshabouri in Persian literature and mysticism, he is considered as the leader of all poets of mystical poetry. Melted in wisdom and love, Rumi lived in the seventh century AH, and due to migration from east to west of Iran, he remained obscure from historians and the rest of poets. However, during ninth century Abd al-Rahman Jami (817-898), a prominent mystic and poet, introduced Rumi in his memoir "Nafahat al-Ons", and provided the readers with useful biographical information about the poet, his family and his masters. From the ninth century onwards, Rumi's enthusiasm increased in the central and eastern lands of the Persian speakers. Of course, Sheikh Ajal, Saadi, because of globe-trotting, in his own words in "Boostan", went to "Rome" with friends, to visit Rumi, " The wise mystic", who is an exception to the ignorant, yet unaware of Rumi’s greatness. It is from the second half of the ninth century that Rumi's admirers rush to Konya to visit his tomb, and the poets of Persian literature engage in "imitation", "estimation" and "thematization" of his lyric poems and Masnavi. Mystics began to describe Masnavi and poets embraced his passionate poems warmly. The researcher in the present article in a "descriptive-analytical" method intends to introduce a number of great figures of Persian literature, from Saadi to Saeb, who have followed Rumi in lyric poetry. The Safavid government could establish an independent identity by formalizing the Shia religion and creating favorable social and cultural conditions in its territory. This identity played a significant role in the spread of Shiism and Shia religious rituals. The Safavid kings maintained the appearance of religion and performed religious ceremonies and rituals in order to legitimize their rule. Likewise, the people followed these rituals. During this period, the Shiites had the opportunity to hold Shia religious rituals freely and away from the opposition. These beliefs and rituals are well reflected in the poems of Saeb, the greatest poet of the Safavid era.  Influenced by the Shia rituals and beliefs of his time, Saeb has devoted many verses to the subject of Shia religious rituals in the form of transition and reinforcement. In this research, which is written in a descriptive-analytical method, the reflection of several types of Shia religious rituals in the Safavid era in Saeb's poetry will be studied. Also, the reflection of Shia religious rituals divides into two groups of transitional rituals and reinforcement rituals according to the classification of religious rituals in cultural anthropology. The research findings show that the reflection of these religious rituals in Saeb's poetry is based on Shia teachings and beliefs influenced by Safavid religious policies and the social conditions of the people.
