The destiny of man and his liberation from pain and misery have been the key subjects of theology of religions. In old and new theological discussions concerning the final salvation of man, three types of theories as exclusivism, inclusivism and pluralism are put forward. This paper is going to investigate Sadr al-dÊn ShÊrāzÊ’s view on this subject, which as his many other philosophical innovations, seems quite new and peculiar to him. By considering the salvation as a relative concept, he puts forward a fresh view which might be called comprehensive inclusivism. Manuscript profile

The objective of the present study is to review the factors for the actualization of a human’s existential purpose from the view of Mullā Sadrā. The method of study is descriptive analysis and the results showed that Mullā Sadrā recognizes that the purpose is the real wisdom of “insight into existence, God’s attributes and acts, and insight into the soul and the way of its resurrection” and it is equal to “rational felicity”. He believes that a human who has real felicity has reached his ultimate perfection and is a “perfect man”. Since from the view of Mullā Sadrā, wisdom is insight; and insight is faith; and faith from its lowest to the highest level is accompanied by action and in fact, the quality and quantity of action shows the weakness or intensity of faith, therefore it is not only action that plays an effective role in the emergence of wisdom, but also wisdom reveals itself in the acts of a wise man. A wise man without action just claims wisdom like someone who claims faith but no effect of that is observed in his behavior. Manuscript profile

3 - Infallibility of Intuitive Insight from the View of Mullā Sadrā and 'Allāma Tabātabā'i

The purpose of the present study is to review the outlook of Mullā Sadrā and 'Allāma Tabātabā'i about infallibility of intuitive insight. The method of study is descriptive-analytic and the results showed that in the theory of intuitive insight, Mullā Sadrā raises the theory of perceptive faculty that is in accordance with his theory of substantial motion. Therefore, contrary to the theory of insight via abstraction, intuitive perception is inclined to rational insight. Mullā Sadrā has analyzed this subject by the critique of the theory of Intebā'āt (imprints) and Khorouj-e Sho'ā' (emission of ray). On the other hand, although 'Allāma Tabātabā'i confirms the theory of substantial motion and transformation of the knowledge by acquaintance to the knowledge by presence, in terms of intuitive insight, he believes in the theory of antecedence of basic confirmations and infallibility of intuitive perception. A consequence of this theory is the impact of imaginary perception on the comprehensibility of intuitive perception that is a sort of cause-and-effect relation. Manuscript profile
