Abstract          Aa or alef is the first letter in the Farsi and the Arabic language and the first letter in jamal and abjad system which denotes " one " and it is the code of " thoor " month ( Ordibehesht ). In mystical, grammatical and philosophical  literature it is an allusion to the unique existence of God, the great omnipotent abstract and unquestionable soul. Because of this specific stance, it is the most prolific letter in constructing the theme and poetic atmosphere and meaningful interpretations in the great poets of azarbaijani style like Khagani Shervani, Nezami Ganjavi, Mojiroddin Bilagani and Falaki Shervani. In most of their poems " alef " means: previous, leader, chairman and famous. It also denotes the harmonic, inflexible, direct and graceful stature. In some other occasions it means honor, pride, thinness, weakness , uprising and endurance. Alef loves its own stature, it is rebellious and has lippy character; but at the same time it is silent. It is considered the poorest element. It brings to mind nakedness, joy carelessness, bondness and adornment . It also incarnates the solitude, and loneliness, righteousness and purity. Alef is motionless. The whole letters and numbers revolve around it. Alef is the first letter of creation. At the same time it shows minuteness.  It is one of the most prolific attributances in the Persian literature and the poets have linked the throne, crescent, club, pen, finger, cypress, and slimness to alef. We have tried , in this article, to elaborate the function of alef in the Azarbaijani style poets. Manuscript profile
