Cryopreservation is one of the most appropriate and safest tool to preserve plant germplasm species including plants seeds. In this temperature, physiologic activities and metabolic processes of the seeds and plant members are almost held up and seeds are able to survive at unlimited time periods. In this research, in order to preserve seeds of Cynara scoolymus L.medicinal plant, from Asteraceae Family in cryopreservation condition, we used three pre-treatments: Glycerol 30 %, and Plant vitrification solution 2 and Desiccation for seeds. After a week all of treatments were extracted from the liquid Nitrogen(LN) and were melted in thermae with 42°C. Then seeds were transferred to a germinator in 24°C and 16/8H optical period. Results analyzed statistically through laboratory exploration. Results show, Cynara scoolymus L. seeds' survival in LN are maintained in all three treatments among which Desiccation treatment has the highest survival percentage(95%), comparing the control (90%). Mean of seedlings' length equals 53 mm in control while in Glycerol 30 % it reaches to 74.46 mm . Thus, Desiccation is recommended as appropriate alternative to preserve this plant seeds for long periods of time in preserving centers of plant germplasm preservation. Manuscript profile

In order to investigate the effect of different levels of the additive containing Artichoke premix concentrated (APC) on growth performance, serum cholesterol level, carcass characteristics and immune responses of broilers two separate trials were conducted. In the first trial, APC was added at three levels of 0, 100 and 200 gr/ton diet during the first 21 days of growing period. One hundred and fifty unsexed day old broiler chickens of Ross strain were randomly divided in three groups with 5 replicate of 10 chicks in each cage, by a completely randomized design. At the end of each week, the birds were weighed individually and feed conversion ratios calculated. In order to determine serum cholesterol level, at day 21 blood sample was taken from 15 chickens per treatment. At the end of the 42nd day, 5 birds from each group were randomly selected and slaughtered for investigation of carcass characteristics. In the second trial, the effects of APC at 150gr/ton feed were studied on growth parameters and immune function of broiler chickens in a commercial farm. The results showed that application of APC in a level of 200 gr/ton diet significantly increased body weight of chickens at the first (p<0.01) and sixth weeks (p<0.05) of age. Feed conversion ratio was improved significantly during the 0-7 (p<0.01), 0-21 (p<0.05) and 0-42 (p<0.01) days. The blood cholesterol level significantly (p<0.01) decreased in group of chickens that were fed APC in the diet when compared with the control birds. The carcass characteristics showed a significant increase (p<0.01) in average live weight, carcass weight, thigh and breast weights of Arc fed birds compared with the control birds, as treatment with APC significantly decreased abdominal fat of treated birds (p<0.05). On the other hand in the commercial farm conditions, APC cause improved growth performance and immune responses of broiler chickens but such improvements were not significant. Manuscript profile

Manuscript profile

Increased levels of blood cholesterol and triglyceride have many implications for humans and sufferers suffer from high costs annually. This research was conducted to investigate the effect of leaf extract of artichoke after lead inhalation in triglyceride and cholesterol levels in rats. In the first day, 5 groups of 6 male adult rats were contracted except for the control group under the lead inhalation. From the first day, 5 mg of extract gavage in the experimental groups at concentrations of 25, 50 and 100 mg/kg Mice weight was measured for 10 days. On the 10th day, the blood was collected from the heart and the remaining blood was separated and frozen with triglyceride and cholesterol kits for measurement. In this method (SPSS software, mean ± SD) method and Tukey test were used for data analysis.Blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels were determined by special kit after lead inhalation in the blood and after application of artichoke extract, p≤ 0.001 was statistically significant. The result was a decrease in the blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the artichoke leaf extract.due to its high antioxidant properties, leaf extract can reduce blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Therefore, Artichoke can be useful for reducing blood glucose in daily diet. Manuscript profile
