A great majority of The Haft Peikar reflects the ancient knowledge of astrology especially of Sabian culture. Stars and their characteristic  signs are prominently used in The Haft Peikar. It would be difficult to understand The Haft Peykar without any knowledge on terminology of astrology and Sabian culture. Nezami seems to be against Sabian’s ideology. He has created the seven stories with motivation of overthrowing Sabian’s believes, displaying their superstitious actions, and questioning their religious beliefs. In creation of Bahram’s destiny, he has tried to prove that the ideas of Sabian are delusional without any scientific foundation. During medieval ages, Sabian represented idolatry and worship of stars. They believed in the emergence and manifestation of the divine spirit through the planets, inspired by the new doctrine of Plato. The world was viewed as infinite spirit in their beliefs. They had faith in an unknown and unique founding cause for the source and the course of life then the wisdom.   Manuscript profile

The psychoanalytical writings of Jacques Lacan offer a new possibility to critics for theorizing the social and political unconscious of literary texts. By rewriting Freud's Oedipus process through linguistic terms, Lacan recognizes three orders in the psychic growth of the subject. The first order is the” real”, which does not need language because of its wholeness, unity, and its unavailability. The “imaginary” order is the second order with its illusion of wholeness and unity. The third order, after construction of law and civilization by the father, forces the child to enter the pre-established “symbolic” order, which is the territory of signified. Nezami Ganjaei, the poet, in his imagination world, would think about adventures which can be considered in breaking down the case psychological growth procedure. In this article we have tried to review tow stories from Nezami as an example of Nezami's reflection by using Lacani's topics.      Manuscript profile

In this paper the Wednesday story from Nezami’s Haft Peikar has been analysed based on the Gilbert Durand theory.     The analysis of mentioned story, have lead to extending the Gilbert Durand theory to a more comprehensive framework as such scientific theories have dynamic and extendable characteristics. According to the Gilbert Durand’s patern, sometimes the main course of text is about the daytime imagination and sometimes it is about the nighttime imagination and sometimes alters between both of them. From Durand’s point of view, in the ideal situation both clusters must be in the text. But in this story we encounter an interesting and prominent situation and that is when nighttime cluster turns into daytime cluster. It seems that Durand has not encountered such situation, because in his categorization we cannot find such a category of transforming one cluster to another. Manuscript profile

n a comparative and analytical study of the happiness of the wealthy princes in Shahnameh and Haft Peykar, we find out how they use national mirrors and beliefs and archetypes and religious orders such as benevolence and charity day by day. They prospered and perpetuated their rule and increased their happiness and enjoyment of divine blessings by giving, giving, forgiving, and spreading the word to the general public, and by holding popular, national, and religious celebrations. The kings, who had a stable government and a prosperous life, praised their Lord in the mornings and evenings, and honored the wise, the clergy, and the astronomers, and consulted with them in carrying out and ending serious matters. The results of the research show that elements such as having a divine spirit and good looks of the rulers, having physical ability and bravery, greed, prayer, benevolence, using music, have been the factors of wealth and happiness of the Iranian princes. In some cases, Ferdowsi and in some issues, Nezami have taken a deeper look at them, and in the pages of this article, several examples have been studied. Manuscript profile

Love is the most distinguished and the most infrequent concept with a huge reflection in art and literature. Love toward man, woman, mother, child, nature, religion and thoughts, motherland, liberty and … is tangible in each part of Persian literature. The love which embraces all is the love to the only God. It gives human the power to know himself and it helps him evolve as much as possible. Mystical literature is about the love to the only God. Emotional literature is one of the areas in which adoring another person can be a way to evolve and achieve integrity. Haft peykar by Nezami Ganjavi is one of the pieces of emotional art which is a story of an earthly love at the surface but upon a deeper consideration of such stories in ancient analysis of the model and psychology, one can find out that the earthly love can get the hero of the story to the point of excellence and perfection. In this research, the story of the Green dome was studied with an emphasis on the exalted beloved and an introduction of Haft peykar and its theme. Manuscript profile

Most of the literary heroes, including those of poetic, epic, dramatic, and didactic nature, are products of historical figures. One of these characters is Bahram Gur, whose reign has been adorned with mythical embellishments in literary sources. He is counted among the Sassanian kings and has garnered attention and popularity from historians, writers, artists, and more. This research takes a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing library sources, to examine the portrayal of this character in both historical and literary domains. The stories related to Bahram Gur in historical and literary sources have been expressed with notable distinctions, yet they all share a common goal, which is the education of society. The aim of this research is to answer the question of how storytelling has been utilized as a tool for education. To elucidate this matter, we first delve into the perspectives of historians regarding this character and then analyze Bahram's portrayal in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and Nezami's Haft Peykar. The findings indicate that, despite focusing on a single character in this research, different perspectives and analyses have been presented. When we approach historical texts from a literary standpoint, employing elements of emotion and imagination, the sole purpose is no longer mere description of facts. As Ferdowsi and Nezami have demonstrated in their depictions of Bahram's character, they have created didactic narratives with historical escapades. Manuscript profile

after more than eight centuries, Nizami is yet considered as the great storyteller in Persian literature. His Panj Ganj(Quintet) depicts his rhetoric in different mystical, love, historical and epic subjects. He had combined rhetoric and faith accompanied by divine revelations and succeeded not only in speech and eloquence manifested in his couplets besides perfection in literary beauties in expression and meaning, but also in all his stories. His stories denote artistic and literary aspects and carry moral and humanity messages involving advices on self-knowledge and wisdom for the governors particularly and people in general. Although, Nizami’s Haft Peikar(Seven Beauties) has been introduced as lyric and epic and apparently it contains submergence of Bahram Gur in pleasure of hunting and falling in love with girls of seven countries in seven domes but its general message and ultimate goal is guiding the readers toward humanly thoughts and moral contents and teaching and training. It acts as a mirror for human in progress and salivation path. Beyond the stories and events of Seven Beauties, there are deep concepts including theism, trust in God, justice, prevention of oppression, learning and gaining knowledge and art, rationalism , withdrawal of worldly instable belongings, avoiding of greed , blaming of debauch and lust, good thought and deed and avoiding mischief and hypocrisy, importance of endeavor and counseling with learned men in state affairs, generosity and beneficence, kindness with people and subordinates and other moral teachings that guide man toward salvation. This article investigates the didactic aspects and moral preaching of seven Beauties. Manuscript profile

Abstract         Sayeh ( shadow ) is one of Jung's archetypes. In this process of individuality he introduces some archetypes that are shared by many people. Abstract            This paper is intended to compare the allegorical story of fenced lady in the Haft Peykar of Nezami with the archetypes of the hero's journey and Campbell's theory. Campbell considers the mythological hero's journey based on the unit model consisting of three sections of departure, initiation, and return. In this study, having reported the key points and telling Campbell's story, we indicated that the journey of young prince who was going to pass the gate of the city for hunting also follows this pattern. With leaving the soul, he gets aware of the intricate path and its obstacles. With the help of an old wise man, he acquires the necessary knowledge to void the spell and find the hidden door of the castle. Then he runs for the fenced lady. Marrying the goddess in this story is a little different compared with hero's journey pattern; because marrying the goddess and obtaining the final blessing, the hero returns back to his people to accomplish his mission. Archetypes of wise man and helping elements, whisperer women etc. With the symbolic elements, the numbers of one, two and three, the ring, dough, milk, drum beat, mountain, earrings, cave, pearl etc. reinforce the archetype of hero.
