The inability of the intellect to reach the essence of transcendence and bewilderment against it, is one of the common concepts of Islamic and Christian mysticism. The Cloud of Unknowing, written by an Christian mystic interprets the path of a mystic as moving towards God in a cloud of darkness, ignorance, and bewilderment; In this journey, the seeker flies towards the transcendent truth with a sharp arrow of love, placing a cloud of forgetting between himself and the whole universe. The essay deals with the central themes of this book, especially The Cloud of Unknowing and The Cloud of Forgetting, and in order to deepen this analysis, it uses an example of Iranian mysticism, that is, The Conference of the Birds (Manṭiq-uṭ-Ṭayr) by Farid ud-Din Attar. In this way, while trying to understand the perspective of the English mystic, the common point of views between these two prominent mystics is analyzed.Attar considers man's desire to Join God as passing through the burning deserts and valleys and finally reaching the level of bewilderment (hayra), while the Christian mystic, who lived in the rainy Midlands of England, sees this attainment as flying through the clouds of bewilderment, darkness and ignorance. Negative theology as a fundamental issue in theological approaches, has been the subject of study by many scholars in recent times. An important concept in theology and philosophy as it is, considering the mystical approach in knowing God, it might be regarded an important subject of study in mysiticism as well. This approach is based on two basic elements: inefficiency of reason in knowing God; inability of man in speaking about God, which are ultimately inter-dependent. The present article is going to study the status of negative theology in Sanā"Ê’s thought with an analytical and explanatory method.  Manuscript profile

The foundation of the universe is based on an aura of hidden secrets that makes the seeker face great challenges in the valley of mysticism and leads him step by step in this destination with bright lights lit by the light of knowledge. Undoubtedly, the result of his encounter with the hidden secrets of the universe will be "astonishment". His helplessness and inability in the circle of wandering until he reaches discovery, intuition and revelation, knowledge and destruction will not be achieved, and the seeker is always seeking to increase his astonishment, and the example of this famous saying of the Prophet (PBUH) is that the master of astonishment is the sixth door of mysticism. It will connect the seeker on the turbulent path of love and truth to the essence of infinite truth. Many mystics have spoken about the position of wonder and its role in creating deep thoughts in different ways. In Masnavi, Rumi has a deep and romantic view of wonder, and he does not look at it with the eyes of only one path, but considers it one of the most important paths in the mystical journey to connect with the beloved. In order to reach self-realization and God-realization, one must go through the mysticism of astonishment, and perhaps, in a sense, the thirty lovebirds are astounded by the astonishment that create Simorgh (Simorgh) in the back alleys of the seven cities Manuscript profile

One of the most important subjects in Islamic mysticism is undoubtedly the human self and its mood and ranks. This is such an important concept that some expert writers in Islamic mysticism have written on it in details. Although many aspects and features of the self  have been considered so far, some arguments like the relationship between the mind and sense of wonder have not been argued yet. Wonder is classified as positive and negative .Unlike the negative wonder which is destructive, in positive wonder the mystic’s soul is elevated in his path of truth and so this essay is going to study the given subject. The mystic’s ultimate union with divine. Wonder has a close relationship with self-annihilation that is the highest position in mysticism. We are going to show how to achieve the constructive wonder through purification of the self. Another merit of this study refers to highlighting the similar views of three great mystics of Iran’s history Qazali, Ansari and Najm Razi. Manuscript profile

Khorshid Najafi Jouybari[1] Hasan Shamsini[2] Asadolah Athariy Mariyan[3] Samad Ghaem Panah[4]   Abstract:   In his works and views, Shariati provides an overview of identity, morality, and religion for living in this world.  For this reason, given the Muslim world, including Iran, has been affected by the crises of globalization and the media. Reconsideration on Shariati's point of views can address some of these social and ethical challenges.  For this reason, in recent decades, Shariati's specific concepts and beliefs about selflessness, committed democracy, equality, justice, meaningful religion, individualism, responsibility is all greatly enhanced, because these concepts address the crisis of abandoned humanity, the crisis of identity, the rise of social strife, Citizens’ isolationism, the new lifestyle, the inefficiency of political democracy, and the challenges of modernity.  In other words, current analysts and thinkers are trying to respond to Shariati's ideas and to bring them into line with the 21st century to respond to the current situation and needs of citizens in the social dimension. Ibn Babiwayh's era is one of the most prominent periods in the history of Imamiyah Shiite. Imam's absence from direct access, along with other doubts, challenged the people. In this situation, Ibn Babiwayh, by writing the book Kamāl al-Dīn, attempted to address the most important discourse challenges of his era which had led to the widespread astonishment about the Imam (as). In such a situation, Ibn Babiwayh, one of the greatest scholars of the Imami, began to write the book of Kamāl al-Dīn wa Tamām al-Ni'mah. In this book, he attempted to scrutinize the most important discourse challenges of that period, which created the perplexity and ambiguity surrounding the Mahdi's Doctrine. Since these challenges are not explicitly mentioned in the book, this study attempts to understand this case by analyzing the data of Kamāl al-Dīn wa Tamām al-Ni'mah’s book. The result of this study shows that Ibn Bābwaih has tried to discuss three issues:1) Proof of Divine Hujah as the son of Imam al-Askari; 2) Imam's absence and non-conflict with Imam's duties; 3) The longevity of Imam.
