Women are half of the citizens of any society and their social participation plays an important role in the development of society. At the same time, sometimes the feeling of insecurity of women in some urban spaces prevents their social presence. Accordingly, the present qualitative research aims to examine unsafe urban spaces from the perspective of women. The research population consisted of women aged 15-45 years in Jask city of which 22 individuals were selected via a purposeful sampling technique. Data collection tools were: in-depth interviews, participatory observation and city map that were used by the subjects to mark safe and insecure urban spaces. Finally, the data were implemented in the form of text and analyzed by thematic analysis. The results showed that insecure urban spaces for women include two main categories: 1) Social insecure space (quiet space, crime-ridden space, unfamiliar social space, male-dominated space, motorcyclist- dominated space and Social constructivist unsafe space) and 2) Physically unsafe space (nested space, dark space, single use space, suburban space, mostly-residential space, space without access to public transportation, worn-out space and polluted space ). Therefore, in order to encourage women to participate in urban public spaces, not only is it important to establish "security" in these spaces, but what is more important is to create a "sense of security" in women, because just establishing security does not create a sense of security in Women, but it requires parallel attention to social security and physical security.
