The aime of this study was to compare the effect of mindfulness training and bio-feedback -relaxation on anxiety, depression in the elderly. The research method was semi-empirical in the type of pretest–posttest with a control group. The statistical population included all elderly women living in distinct 1 of Tehran in 98 spring .33 (65-65 years) (three groups of 11 each) were voluntarily selected. On the basis of pre-test score of anxiety and depression, they were divided into three groups of 11 homogeneous mindfulness, biofeedback-relaxation and control groups. Beck Anxiety and Depression Inventory (Beck, 1996) were used to measure the anxiety and depresstion before and after intervention. Mindfulness group received Mindfulness training and biofeedback- relaxation group recived combination of biofeedback training and relaxation (four sessions three weeks). The control group did not participate in any exercise. Analysis of covariance and paired t-test were used for data analysis. Anxiety and depression were significantly different between the groups (P<0/001). Although the scores of both biofeedback-relaxation and mindfulness groups in the post-test were significantly better than the pre-test and were significantly different from the control group (p <0.05), the difference between mindfulness and biofeedback-relaxation groups was not significant (p> 0.05). Mindfulness and biofeedback-relaxation exercises improve and reduce depression and anxiety in the elderly. But there was no difference between the effectiveness of these exercises. Given the easier and more convinience practice of mindfulness exercises, mindfulness exercises can be considered as an efficient approach to biofeedback training. Manuscript profile

Dysmenorrhea or painful periods is one of the problems of women in childbearing age which has negative effects on their individual and social health. It is one of the most important reasons for going to doctor and generally affects the quality of life in childbearing age. The goal of this research was to study the effectiveness of EMG biofeedback in curing primary Dysmenorrhea. This research was a quasi-experimental design. Statistical population of this study was all of the patients who had experienced the primary Dysmenorrhea and had been visited in Hakim and Qamar Bani Hashem hospitals in Neyshabour in spring 1394. The sampling method was convenience one. The samples were selected by Verbal Multi Dimension Scale (VMDS). The patients in 6 sessions and in the first three days of the period time were cured by EMG biofeedback and were trained progressive relaxation. In this study, the data were collected by Biofeedback device output and West Haven-Yale Multidimensional Pain Inventory (WHYMPI) implementation. Data was analyzed by ANCOVA method. The results showed reducing of pain in patients with primary Dysmenorrhea (p-value <0/05). Manuscript profile

Purpose: The aim of this research is to compare the efficacy of Drug Therapy and combined Medications and biofeedback on migraine headache symptoms and pain self-efficacy of patients with migraine headache in the city of Mahshahr. Methods: This research was an experimental type with pretest, posttest and control group. Multi-stage random sampling was used to conduct this research. At first step, 41people with high scores were selected using Ahvaz migraine questionnaire (AMQ). At the next step, 30people were randomly selected through interview, neurologist diagnosis and considering inclusion criteria then divided into two experimental and one control groups. In this research, subjects completed the headache symptoms scale and Pain Self-efficacy Questionnaire. For data analysis, multivariate analysis of covariance and Kruskal - Wallis tests were used. Result: The results showed that there were significant differences between three groups in terms of headaches symptoms, pain self-efficacy and subscales of headache symptoms scale in favor of second experimental group. Conclusion: Therefore, Medications with biofeedback method is more effective than using Drug Therapy alone, in terms of reducing symptoms of migraine headache and improving pain self-efficacy.
