Abstract :
Abstract Archaism or linguistic archaism is one of the most widely used types of deviance in contemporary poetry; most of the poets have included old and archaic words in their poems for language highlighting and making differentiation and difference in their poetic language and by this they have avoided automation of language. Meanwhile, in addition to the desire to highlighting language, archaism has other causes and origins in contemporary sonnet; necessity of rhythm and music, rhyming, internal rhymes, exquisite verbal and spiritual figures of speech, semantics and Semantic perfection of some ancient vocabulary, and some other reasons have caused the appearance of outstanding aspects of archaism in contemporary poetry. The results of the present study have cleared that the aforementioned reasons have extensive involvement in linguistic obsolescence of these poets
