Abstract
Diabetes, dyslipidemia (lipid metabolism disorder), and oxidative stress are considered among the most significant threats to human health in the present century. In addition to pharmacological treatments, the utilization of complementary methods such as regular exercise and the use of medicinal plants with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties should be considered as an effective approach with fewer side effects. The aim of this article is to evaluate the simultaneous effects of physical activity and medicinal plants on improving metabolic and oxidative markers in patients with type 2 diabetes and dyslipidemia. The results indicate that a reduction in inflammatory factors, improved insulin sensitivity, decreased levels of blood lipids and oxidative products can be achieved through the combination of exercise training and the consumption of certain medicinal plants. These findings emphasize the importance of conducting further clinical research to determine the dosage, species of medicinal plant, and intensity of exercise..
