A sociological investigation into coffee shop youth lifestyle in Dehdasht City

Abstract :
Lifestyle is one of the topics that has gotten the attention of experts and theorists of humanities and social sciences in recent decades. Attention to this issue arises from profound social and cultural changes that has revealed the contribution of men and women in various cultural, social and political fields in the modern world. In this regard, this study was conducted to investigate the lifestyle of coffee shop youths in Dehdasht City. The theoretical framework was derived from the theories of Weber, Bourdieu, Giddens and Berman. The descriptive research method was of the correlational type and the research population included 205 young people who frequented the coffee shops of Dehdasht city, of which, on the basis of Morgan's table, a sample of 100 people was selected using the available sampling method. Data were collected via questionnaires and variables’ reliability were calculated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient ( 0.86). To analyze the data, Pearson correlation and multiple regression statistical methods were used with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the degree of cosmopolitanism of the youth of coffee shops and their lifestyle(p<0.000). But the two variables of religiosity and ethnic and tribal affiliations had no significant relationship. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.86.
