Abstract :
This research has been conducted with the aim of evaluating the use of virtual social networks and social tolerance, and the statistical population is all citizens aged 18 to 35 years old living in Mashhad and using virtual networks. The sample size was 384 people using Cochran formula, which was distributed according to the population of each district and completed questionnaires. The researcher made questionnaire and has a reliable and reliable validity. To test the hypotheses, correlation, t-test and variance analysis have been used. The results of the study showed that the average social tolerance index is 3.51, which is more than average. The average use of virtual networks has been around 296 minutes a day, and Instagram has been around 125 minutes a day. Pearson correlation test confirmed the relationship between the extent of using virtual social networks and social tolerance. There is a positive and significant relationship between the use of virtual social networks with religious, political and moral tolerance, but the relationship between the use of virtual social networks and ethnic tolerance is not confirmed.
