Abstract :
The study of relationships between women and society is among the emerging issues. This article examines this important issue from the perspective of women's presence in the Iranian public sphere. The hermeneutic methodology has been chosen as a suitable method for explaining both presence and absence Iranian woman in contemporary Iran. We have used Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutics for the methodology in this article. Based on this, we have tried to interpret the role of women in the Iranian public in terms of presence and absence. The article is based on the idea that a woman, in presence and absent, can play a role in the Iranian public sphere. In fact, the article explains the effect of absent social activist. The paper includes these sections: introduction, methodology, public domain and Iranian society, women and the public domain including the comprehensive background and the woman and the public domain of Iran and the conclusions.
