Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-care on depression and quality of life in diabetic patients in the health center of Qom martyrs. A semi-experimental study with pre-test, post-test and control group. The statistical population of all people with diabetes was referred to the health center of Qom martyrs' martyrs in 2017. Among them, 50 were selected by simple random sampling method ( 25 for the experimental group and 25 for the group Control ) were selected. The instruments used were Beck Depression Inventory and World Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire before and after implementing the self-care training method on participants, and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics ( mean and standard deviation ) and inferential statistics ( Covariance analysis ) were analyzed. The findings of this study showed that self-care education improves quality of life and decreases depression in diabetic patients ( P < 0.05 ).
