Abstract :
The social participation of individuals and social groups guarantees the success of development programs and provides this possibility so that people can reach specific and predetermined goals and interfere in their destiny. This research was conducted with the aim of sociological investigation of social participation and the factors affecting it in the less developed counties of Javanroud and Ravansar of Kermanshah province. The research method is a (quantitative) survey and a questionnaire was used to collect data. The statistical population of this research is all citizens over 18 years of age living in the counties of Javanroud and Ravansar. The sample size of this research was 384 people who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. Pearson's correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were used to analyze the data. The findings of the research indicate the average level of social participation in the counties of Javanroud and Ravansar, and there is a significant relationship between the independent variables (dependence on the government and limited good) and the dependent variable (social participation). The results of the regression analysis showed that the independent variables explain a small amount of changes in the dependent variable, and among the factors affecting social participation, only the variable of dependence on the government had an effect. In the less developed areas studied, where culture, beliefs and social values have not changed much and the society has remained in its traditional form, Tradition and small elements of peasant culture strengthen social participation.
