Abstract :
Introduction: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between sense of worth and functional flexibility with competitive anxiety in soccer players. Methods: The research method was descriptive (non-experimental) and the design was correlational in nature. The statistical population of this study consisted of all 10-12 year old male footballers at Tehran Fan Football Academy in the spring of 1404, which has 150 football students. A sample of 108 people was selected from the statistical population, based on the Krejci and Morgan table and using a simple random sampling method (by lot and based on a list of names), And they answered three questionnaires: Merrell's (2010) Functional Flexibility Questionnaire, Crocker et al.'s (2003) Self-Worth Questionnaire, and Martens et al.'s (1990) State-Competitive Anxiety Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics indicators (such as mean and variance) were used to describe the data of this study, and inferential statistics indicators such as Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression were used for analysis. Data were analyzed using SPSS22 software. Results: The results indicated that functional flexibility and sense of worth predict competitive anxiety in child soccer players, and functional flexibility plays a greater role in this regard. Conclusion: Therefore, the greater the functional flexibility and sense of worth in child soccer players, the less competitive anxiety they will have. The presence of functional flexibility and a sense of worth in child soccer players predicts competitive anxiety in them.
