Examining the differences of commentators' views on the components and meanings of verse 35 of Surah Muhammad and its relationship with verse 61 of Surah Anfal

Abstract :
The commentators have differed in the verse فَلا تَهِنُوا وَ تَدْعُوا إِلَى السَّلْمِ وَ أَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ)) from various aspects. For example, in ( تَدْعوا) its inflection،The meaning of ،(السَّلْمِ) the meaning of (الاعلون ) the role of (واو) in (وَ أَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ) and the relationship of this verse with verse 61 of Surah Anfal. These disagreements have led to differences in the commentators' views on the meaning of the verse. Regarding the meaning of peace for(السَّلْمِ) this verse has been divided among the commentators due to its connection with the governmental jurisprudence issue of the permissibility or impermissibility of peace with polytheists.In this research, with a descriptive-analytical method, the commentators' point of view has been criticized and the conclusion has been reached that (تَدْعُوا إِلَى السَّلْمِ) means not calling for peace and (الْأَعْلَوْنَ) is the eternal supremacy of the front of truth, which is the condition of the believer's faith. will be Verse 35 of Surah Muhammad forbids "initial peace" which is done out of weakness and necessity, and therefore the two mentioned verses do not conflict with each other.
