Effectiveness of coping skills training on psychological capital and affective styles in 12-18 year-old working teens

Abstract :
Abstract The purpose of this article is identifying the impacts of coping skills training on working teens' psychological capital and affective styles. The research was based on investigation method and has been followed the pre-test/post-test method with control group. The statistic population of the research included 12-18 year-old working teens of Shemiranat area2. Tehran who worked under the social welfare; using available sampling method 30 teen have been choose and settled on experimental group and control group. In order to collecting data, the questionnaires of Lotanz‟s psychological capital and Hoffman and Kashdan‟s affective style have been used. Afterwards, the coping skills have been taught to the experimental group, 15 working teens, in ten tow-hour sessions while control group has been not taught. The results indicated that the average of four constituents i.e. “psychological capital” and all three “affective styles” in experimental group in post-test increased than in pre-test, while this increase has been not seen in the control group. In conclusion, coping skills training leaded to improve the psychological capital and affective styles of working teens.
