Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of acceptance-based education and commitment on the improvement of parental stress in girls’ elementary school mothers. The research method was semi-experimental with running pre-test and post-test. 60 mothers were selected among all primary school students’ mothers in Khomeini-Shahr (Isfahan) during the academic year of 2012-13.They were selected based on the research entering criteria and “available sampling” technique interview and they were randomly put into experimental group (30 mothers) and control group (30 mothers). The experimental group was under the family education based on acceptance and commitment trophy for ten 90-minute sessions. The Abidin self-reporting Questionnaire (1990) was used to assess stress in the parent-child system. The Data was analyzed by covariance analysis method. The findings of this research showed that an independent variable has an effect on empowerment, child temper, acceptance and compatibility. But, family education based on acceptance and commitment intervention failed to improve the performance of children in inattention / excessive action variable (P <0.05). In general, the results of this study indicated that the family education program based on acceptance and commitment resulted in improvement of parental stress in mothers.
