Relationship between Perfectionism Dimensions and Basic Mathematical Skills of students

Abstract :
The aim of this study was evaluation the dimensions of perfectionism related with the basic mathematics skills of Islamic Azad University of Abadan students. For this purpose a sample included 300 students (175 males and 125 females) in the second semester of the academic year 88-1387 basic and general math courses were registered was selected randomly. Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale was used to measure of perfectionism, this scale includes of parental feelings, concerns about mistakes, doubts about actions, personal standards and organization subscales Also, option 5 of 15 questions were used to test students in basic math skills. Data LRead phonetically Dictionary - View detailed dictionaryanalysis of Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analysis were used. The results indicate a positive relationship with personal standards perfectionism in basic math skills, and negative correlation between perfectionism measures in doubt about the basic mathematical skills. This study shows that affective factors in mathematics education along with the rest of perfectionism should be affective factors such as mathematics anxiety and attitudes toward mathematics must take into consideration.
