Abstract :
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of emotion -focused-couple therapy (EFCT) on increasing dyadic satisfaction, dyadic cohesion, dyadic consensus and affectional expression. This study was performed in a quasi-experimental context with experimental and control groups and doing pre-test and post-test. The study population included the couples who had referred to Tehran counseling center in the year of 2017 . In this research, the counseling center was selected by available approach, The data was gathered by giving the Dyadic Adjustment Scale )1976( to 20 couples of 36, were selected randomly and after completing the questionnaire, the couples were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The experimental group received the treatment (EFCT) for 9 90-minutes sessions. The data collection tool included Spanier Dyadic Adjustment Scale )1976(. The results of data analysis by using analysis of covariance (p < 0/05) showed that the treatment (EFCT) is effective in increasing dyadic satisfaction, dyadic cohesion, dyadic consesus and affectional expression. Therefore, based on the findings, one can conclude that the treatment (EFCT) can be used to increase marital satisfaction as an effective method.
