Abstract :
In recent years, the attention of clinical psychologists has increased in research into the causes, nature, and treatment of social anxiety in adolescents. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of group narrative therapy on social anxiety in adolescents in tabriz. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test with control group. The sample consisted of 24 subjects (12 girls and 12 boys) who were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two groups of 12 (experimental and control). The social anxiety scale of adolescents was used to collect data. First, all the samples responded to the questionnaire. Then, group therapy was performed on the experimental group in 10 sessions, and finally, the post-test was taken from the experimental and control group. Data were analyzed by spss software and one-way covariance analysis. The findings of this study showed that the group therapy group's narrative therapy sessions reduced the social anxiety of adolescents in the experimental group compared to the control group (p <0.05). The results of this study indicate that group therapy has a significant effect on social anxiety in adolescents (p <0.05).
