Effectiveness of group dialectic behavioral therapy on perceived stress and emotion regulation among teachers

Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to examine the effectiveness of group dialectic behavioral therapy on perceived stress and emotion regulation among teachers of Urmia city. The statistical population of this study included all the teachers of Urmia city among them 30 people were chosen through purposeful method and randomly assigned into two experimental and control group. The experimental group received 8 sessions of DBT training. The instruments of the research included emotions questionnaire (Watson, et al, 1988) and perceived stress scale (Cohen, 1983). Data were analyzed using SPSS software by MANCOVA method. Findings indicated that therapy in comparison to the control group, dialectic behavioral is effective decreased on perceived stress and increased emotion regulation. Therefore, this method of intervention could be applied in order to decrease perceived stress and improve emotion regulation among the teachers.
