Abstract :
Introduction:Considering the importance of school-oriented activities and the beneficial effects of aerobic exercises and oats, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobic exercises and Otmeal consumption on the serum levels of leukocytes and cortisol of male students.
research methodology:The statistical population of the research was primary school boys,76of them were estimated with G.POWER software and were selected in a purposeful and available way and were randomly divided into four (n=19)groups: aerobic exercise, oatmeal consumption, aerobic exercise+oatmeal consumption, and control.Otmeal consumption (1gram per kg of body weight) groups consumed Otmeal (three times a week) for8weeks.Aerobic training was 8 weeks (three sessions a week) and each session was70 minutes, the combined training program was rope swing and periodic basketball.Blood samples were collecte in the laboratory24hours before the first training session and consuming oatmeal and24hours after the last training session and consuming oatmeal. To analyze the findings, dependent t-test, analysis of variance and Bonferroni's Post-hoc test were used.
Findings:The results showed that consumption of Otmil and aerobic exercises+Otmil increase leukocyte levels. (P≤ 0.05), Also, aerobic exercises, consumption of Otmil and aerobic exercises + consumption of Otmil decreased cortisol levels (P≤ 0.05, The results of the Post-hoc test showed that the levels of leukocytes were significantly higher in the groups of aerobic training+Otmil consumption and Otmil consumption than the control group (P≥ 0.05).Also, the results of this test showed that the cortisol levels in the groups of aerobic exercise, aerobic exercise+Otmil consumption and Otmil consumption are significantly lower than the control group (P≥ 0.05).
Conclusion:It seems that taking Otmil and aerobic exercises+Otmil adjust leukocytes and cortisol can have positive effects on children's immune system and reduce stress.
