Abstract :
Examining the foreign policy of the United States towards Iran is one of the important issues that shows the strategies and approaches of the diplomatic system of this country towards Iran and can be effective in creating awareness and then adopting intelligent countermeasures, the behavior pattern of the United States. In dealing with Iran, it is a function of geopolitical necessities and the power equation. America is trying to reduce Iran's regional and hegemonic role. Economic sanctions, political exploits of containment and coercion strategy can be seen as a reflection of such a process. Considering that the issue of sanctions, especially economic sanctions, can have tangible destructive effects on the national economy and political stability of countries, after the victory of the Islamic revolution, the United States, considering the loss of its interests in Iran, adopted a hostile policy towards J. A. Iran took the initiative in such a way that in addition to implementing the imposition war program, it also put the issue of sanctions on the agenda and these sanctions have continued until now and the era of Obama and Trump became more widespread, therefore this article is a comparative study of these policies in the two terms of Obama's presidency. And Trump has paid.
