Abstract :
Background: Shared leadership is defined as a human phenomenon and collaborative process in teams where team members simultaneously assume leadership roles. Given the complexities of the contemporary world and the need for collective cooperation, this concept has gained researchers' attention in recent years. Objective: This study aims to provide a comprehensive perspective on the components of shared leadership and analyze findings from previous studies. Methods: This research utilized the meta-synthesis method and the seven-step approach of Sandelowski and Barroso to extract data from scientific and research articles over a 24-year period (2000-2024). After initial reviews, 33 articles were selected for more detailed study. Findings: The research results indicate that shared leadership is a multidimensional concept comprising six main dimensions: communicative leadership, motivational leadership, decision-making leadership, team leadership, operational leadership, and innovative leadership. A total of 26 components were extracted for these dimensions, including establishing positive work relationships, emotional support, motivation, inspiration, enhancing decision-making power, strengthening team collaboration, providing instructions and guidance, and encouraging innovation. Conclusion: Shared leadership is a multidimensional approach that, by focusing on communicative, motivational, decision-making, team, operational, and innovative dimensions, can contribute to improving team and organizational performance in today's complex environments.
