The Impact of Metaverse as a Novel Tool in Educational Technology in the Education Sector from the Perspective of Education Staff Managers

Abstract :
This research aims to examine the impact of the Metaverse as a novel tool in educational technology from the perspective of education staff managers. The study utilized a descriptive survey method. The research population included all educational management directors in Tehran (140 people), with a sample of 103 selected using stratified random sampling. Data collection was conducted using a researcher-made questionnaire, whose validity and reliability were confirmed through item analysis and Cronbach's alpha. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Chi-square and Friedman tests). The results indicated that key components of the Metaverse include presence, speed, stability, connection to the real world, cost, intelligence, overcoming current internet limitations, continuity and interactivity, identity continuity, entertainment, shopping, film and series worlds, artificial intelligence, changes in the educational system, future education empowerment, and educational opportunities. Among these, speed was the most important factor, while identity continuity was the least important. Additionally, among the strategies, speed and the ability to design engaging environments by teachers were most significant, whereas control over student interactions in the Metaverse and the availability of changes in the Metaverse were less critical.
