A pathological Approach to Teachers' Research Culture based on Root Cause Analysis Method

Abstract :
Research is one of the most fundamental needs for achieving the comprehensive advancement and development of a country, and the power and independence of any country is based on research and production of science. Education paves the way for the ethical and intellectual growth of the people of a dynamic society. The institutionalization of research can lead to the excellence of education and, in a word, comprehensive development by synergizing ideas. Education is the basis for people's intellectual and ethical growth in a dynamic society and the teacher, as one of the important elements of education, has a very sensitive role. Any fundamental change in the structure of this social institution depends on research in the field of education in the country, and as long as education benefits from research, this institution will grow and excel. Research skill is one of the critical skills and capabilities of 21st-century teachers. New thinking and practical action must arise from the teachers because they are consumers of educational ideas, so they should participate in producing these ideas. Also, Awareness of the barriers to research and its root pathology in order to effectively plan for the quantitative and qualitative improvement of research, efforts to spread the research culture and improve its status seems necessary and research and its problems should be considered with a systematic view. The purpose of the present research was to identify the damages of research culture in teachers in Kurdistan province. This research was qualitative in terms of strategy and considering that it is looking to discover the damages and barriers of research culture and its purpose was exploratory, thematic analysis method has been used. At first, the intended damage was extracted from interviews with 16 organizational and academic experts by theoretical sampling and finally 3 organizing themes of structural factors, background factors and behavioral factors and 56 basic themes were extracted. Teacher's interest in research activities should be considered equivalent to the advancement of the quality of education and, consequently, the development of the country. In order to improve the quality of education and educational effectiveness, teachers' necessary skills and capabilities should be strengthened. If research is institutionalized among teachers, it can lead to a fundamental change in educational methods and models, enrichment of the educational environment and the structure of education, and lead to the scientific and skill excellence of teachers and transform individual talents and creativity into innovation
