Phenomenological analysis of socio-cultural barriers to the development of sports tourism in Iran

Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to phenomenological analyze the socio-cultural barriers to the development of sports tourism in Iran. This researching terms of purpose is applied and in terms of research methods is Qualitative with a phenomenological approach. In this study, according to the purpose of the study, participants based on snowball sampling from sports tourism in the country (selected sports tourism tour managers, university professors specializing in sports tourism and also selected managers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth), were selected (14 interviews). Semi-structured and in-depth interviews were used to collect information. In order to analyze and extract the research codes, Max QDA Pro software was used. The results showed that socio-cultural barriers to the development of sports tourism in Iran include educational, media, family, security, cultural-religious, environmental, information and driving factors. Removing socio-cultural barriers to the development of sports tourism can pave the way for the development of sports tourism in Iran and enjoy its benefits.
