Analysis of administrative, political-legal and infrastructural obstacles to the development of sports tourism in Iran

Abstract :
The purpose of the current research is to analyze the managerial, political-legal and infrastructural barriers to the development of sports tourism in Iran. In terms of objective, it is applied and in terms of qualitative research method, it is based on thematic analysis approach. In this research, according to the purpose of studying the participants based on snowball sampling among those involved in sports tourism in the country (managers of selected sports tourism tours, university professors specializing in sports tourism, as well as selected managers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth ), were selected (14 interviews). In order to collect information, a semi-structured and in-depth interview was used. The results of the research showed that planning, evaluation, communication, human resources management and manager characteristics are among the constructive themes of management, legal, insurance and political obstacles are among the constructive themes of political-legal and facilities and transportation are among the constructive themes of pre-infrastructure. On the development of sports tourism in Iran. In general, it seems that the officials and those involved in the field of sports tourism in the country should think of measures to provide opportunities for the development of sports tourism in the country by removing the obstacles mentioned in this research.
